Users can unsubscribe to lists themselves if you enable the Mailing Lists icon in Design Layout > Site Layout.
Click on the View Dashboard Icons and activate the Mailing Lists icon so it shows up on your members dashboard.
Alternatively, users can unsubscribe through the email link in the mass email if you set the {{unsubscribe_url}} or {{unsubscribe_url_text}} merge field.
