Slide shows allow you to present your important headlines or promotions on your home page.  eCommerce Suite allows you to present up to 10 different slideshows to your customers.
To enable slideshows, make sure you have set the option in Design Layout > Site Layout > Home Page > Show Slideshows.  You can also set the number of slideshows to show in Number of Slideshows.  You can enable up to 10 different ones that you have created.

Managing Slide Shows
To view your slideshows, go to Content Media > Slide Shows.   To change the order of your slideshows, just click on the sorting icon on the right side and drag your slide show up and down as you see fit.
You can create two different slide shows, a simple slide or advanced slide.

Create Simple Slide
Simple slides give the beginner an easy way to add text background color, and background image to your slide. You don’t need to edit HTML or JavaScript code.  Just enter the following:

Config Tab

  • Name – Name your slide show
  • Start Date – When you want your slide show to begin showing online.  This is great if you want to run a promotion or something that starts and ends on a specific time in conjunction with Expires On
  • Expires On – When you want your slideshow to expire, if you want it to run all the time, just set the date to something 5 years or more from now.
  • Background – Set a background image for your slide show, try and make it about 2000 px wide so it stretches across an HD screen.
  • Background Color – Select a background color for your slide show, if you want it to have some transparency to your color, use the slider on the right side of the color widget to move it up and down depending on what you want.
  • Text Color – Set the color for your text.  Make sure this is an opposing color from your background color and image
  • Text Position – Set whether your text shows up on Left, Right, or Center of your slide
  • Action URL – If you want a button at the end of your slide show message, enter the URL where the use will be sent to after clicking it.  This is in conjunction with your Button Text in the Text tab.

Text Tab

  • Headline – The headline for your slide show
  • Text – The message after your headline
  • Button Text – The action button after your slide show message.  Enter what you want it to show here.  This works in conjunction with the Action URL set in the Config tab.

Options

  • Sort Order – Set the sort order manually for your slide show

Create Advanced Slide
The Advanced Slide option allows you to completely edit the HTML of the slide show. If you know how to do this, then we suggest trying it, but if you are not comfortable editing the slide show HTML, it may distort your home page and make it load incorrectly,

  • Footer Data – Any code you want to show in the footer section of your home page, such as JavaScript
  • Sort Order– Set the sort order manually for your slide show

Using Slide Shows with Site Builder
If you are using Site Builder to create your home page, you can still use the slide shows by clicking on + plus icon on the left side, go to More Options > More > Modules. Click on the Content Slideshows module to add it as a section in your page, you can then move that section on the top of your page or wherever you see fit.
