Tax classes are assigned to each product that you want to sell. For each tax class, you can assign different tax rates by zone, so when a customer purchases from your store, the tax calculated for that product can be set for the region the customer is purchasing from.
Managing Tax Classes
You can add and update tax classes in your eCommerce admin area by clicking on Localization > Taxes and Zones > Tax Classes. To add a new tax class, click on the Add Tax Class button. You can then set the Rate Rules tab and click on Assign Tax Rates to this class based on the tax rates you have added in the Tax Rates section.
Once you have set your tax classes, every time you add a new product, you can specify the Tax Class ID for that product, and eCommerce Suite will charge that tax whenever someone purchases that product from your eCommerce store.
